Those long, cold November evenings...
Victor snagged his coat and stormed down the halls of the heli-fortress. He'd never tell anyone, but he really hated living up in the air. Having his feet off the ground made him edgy all the time...
Misery had come by to 'see' him before leaving for the SHIELD summit. They were held once a year, all the leaders and their team captains had to attend. Two weeks alone, from Thanksgiving to mid-December. And she always made sure that he knew what he'd be missing. Damn, it been years now and he still shook with need every time she touched him.
So here it was, down time again, and he'd be alone...
...well, mostly alone. "Yo, Runt!" he snarled when he made it to the team housing hall. "Wakey wakey, I need a buddy else I don't get to leave!"

A blue kid with a tail, huddled in a closet, and girl, scarred and world weary, but with a great strength about her he wanted to know.
Vaporous images, all feeling so familiar and yet completely elusive, if he could just--
He snarled when he hard Victor's voice and shifted on the cot, flipping him off over his shoulder as he resettled against the pillow.
"Go ask Wade or Brock, one of those two maniacs would love to get out of here."

Hitting the floor Logan was wide awake now. Crouched behind the cot, one set of claws out, he glared at Victor.
"I outta cut yer god damn head off."

"An' there ain't never shit on tv."
The only thing he wanted to watch was the news, which was crazy because he hated it, but there were times he felt like if he watched enough he might find something he was looking for.
Whenever he found an interesting story that would start to stir something inside his mind, though, Misery was always real good at showing up to distract him so he stopped bothering.
Righting the cot he tossed the pillow and blanket back on top and looked up at Victor.
"So where the hell you wanna go?"
no subject
"Oh, I got me a habit of biking up through all the bars along I-90 before camping along lake Michigan for a week this time of year. Think you can keep up?" he lit up a smoke and nudged Logans boots. "And don't bother packing any of your shit, I got all we need." his clothes all smelled like Mis.

He didn't want to admit how great it actually sounded, or how much he was craving to get out and roam.
"That's damn thoughtful of ya, Vic. What's yer deal?"
It was more banter than actual suspicion. Logan still didn't trust Victor, but from what he could tell this wasn't any kind of scheme.

That and he wanted to see if getting out made Logan's brain click on. He'd been stinking up the place.

Vic had bikes waiting. Just bikes, no gear.

Seeing the bikes Logan glared at Victor.
It wasn't that he needed much, but Victor had said he had everything taken care of and Logan didn't particularly like the idea of heading off into the wilderness with Victor without a thing.
It had too much of a 'stranded' vibe to it and no way was Logan going to get ditched somewhere while Victor headed back on his own.

They were headed to p truck stop. With showers.

Logan continued to keep his eyes narrowed on Victor, but followed anyways.
If Victor tried anything Logan would just follow through on the threat to cut his head off. No biggie.

At this time of year the leaves were all well fallen and the scent of snow was heavy in the air, but there was a permanent lean-to that he'd built over the years, to cut the wind, and the camping gear was designed for winter.
"Here we go, Logan." Vic sighed, standing at the top of the rocks to look down onto the small piece of land "Home. Really home...at least for a week or so."

Looking out from their vantage it was clear he approved of the spot, breathing in the clean air and feeling freedom for the first time in a long time.
Home.
"Not bad, Vic. Don't mind you draggin' me outta bed so much now."

He looked down at the valley below and started climbing again.
"Or if ya snore. Best time ta get game is in the early evening, figure by the time we get down there we'll have a good shot at an easy meal."
no subject
"Like you'd hear me over yours." he snorted, jumping and skimming down the rocks. He knew this land...it showed. "Mmmm, fresh meat. Fresh meat! Fresh meat!" it became a cheerful sing-song.

"unless you manage to get a broken nose and fall asleep before it heals. That's just fucking creepy sounding."

Logan shook his head, digging his claws into a boulder and continued working his way down.
no subject
Ah, flat ground. Home sweet home. He tossed his gear into the corner of the lean-to and stretched.
no subject
Leaving his room only makes him feel more boxed in because he knows he can't leave go anywhere beyond there without hassles, so it's better for him to stay somewhere closed in and at least a little familiar.
"Ever try warm milk?"
no subject
"Tried that nature sounds thing a coupla times though...too fuckin tame."
no subject
Which is the only reason he'd really suggest it for Victor.
